UV Vodka Rocks with SPIN Magazine
Partnership includes music events and online promotion
MINNEAPOLIS (April 1, 2009) – Reaching rockers from across the globe, UV Vodka poured musically-inspired cocktails at SPIN magazine’s party held during the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas, which wrapped up on Sunday, March 22, as part of a year-long partnership with the publication.
“Our partnership with SPIN allows us to reach UV’s core consumers through key music festivals this year” said Dean Phillips, president and CEO of Phillips Distilling Company. “This festival was the perfect platform to introduce UV to influencers and extend our reach with those who are already loyal to the brand.”
As the exclusive spirit poured at the SPIN party during SXSW on Friday, March 20, at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q, guests enjoyed complimentary cocktails created with the line of colorful vodkas while listening to music from Echo and the Bunnymen, Black Lips and Crystal Method. A surprise performance from Metallica capped off the evening of hot music and cool cocktails.
UV Vodka was also served in the SPIN VIP artist lounge throughout the festival where musicians could kick back and relax during the festival with their favorite UV cocktail.
As an extension of the year-long campaign, music lovers are encouraged to submit their own UV Vodka cocktail recipe to the UV Lounge at SPIN.com/UVLOUNGE for the chance to win tickets to the Austin music festival in 2010. Guests can also view party photos of each festival online at the lounge. In addition to pouring during SXSW, UV was previously poured at Tomorrow Never Knows festival in Chicago and is slated for Lollapalooza in Chicago and Treasure Island in San Francisco later this year.
