Distilling Company Wins Six Medals
at 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
MINNEAPOLIS (April 11, 2006) — Phillips Distilling Company, long-known for its innovation and quality, was honored with six medals at the 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition held March 18-19, 2006 at the Mandarin Hotel in San Francisco, California.
UV Vodka won two silver medals - one in the straight vodka category and one in the flavored vodka category for UV BLUE Raspberry Vodka. UV Vodka is distilled four times from Midwest-American grain and priced at around $10 per bottle (750 ml) - resulting in an unusually smooth vodka at an unusually good value.
The Phillips Union Whiskey line received two silver medals: one for the original Phillips Union Whiskey and one for Phillips Union Vanilla. Phillips Union Cherry was honored with a bronze medal. Phillips Union Whiskey is a unique blend of Kentucky Bourbon and Canadian Whisky and its flavored varieties mark the first flavored whiskeys in the world.
Phillips Distilling’s newest product, Black 100, an intensely flavored, herbal liqueur was awarded a bronze medal in the herbal liqueur category.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition was founded in 2000 and is the first comprehensive, international spirits judging ever held in the United States on an annual basis. Judging is based on a blind, consensual procedure thereby ensuring its rigor and integrity.
